MV Alfred reportedly ashore in Swona

UPDATE: It is now understood that Pentland Ferries vessel mv Alfred is on her way back to St Margarets Hope. It seems that the Thurso lifeboat is accompanying it.

Earlier this afternoon, it appeared that the Alfred had gone ashore in Swona.

The Orcadian has made contact with the ferry company, who will be providing a statement in due course.

The newspaper has also approached the Coastguard for comment.
