Nature Festival returns for second year
The second Orkney Nature Festival kicks off today, Saturday, for another nine days of “world-class” wildlife-watching.
After the success of the inaugural festival, and with Orkney’s spring wildlife at its best just now, expectations are high for a huge range of birds, flowers and other wildlife.
Among this year’s events is a return fixture of the Orkney urban wildlife grudge match. After 109 species were recorded in Kirkwall last year, including a new plant for the county, tomorrow, wildlife enthusiasts will be combing the town and surrounds, looking for wildlife of every kind.
Stromness Museum is also hosting a special free open day tomorrow.
