New headteachers at three Orkney schools
Three new headteachers have been appointed to Orkney’s schools this week.
Gordon McDonald, who is currently acting head at Kirkwall Grammar School, will now take on the permanent post. Mark Taylor, currently Acting Head at St Andrew’s Primary School, will also take on a permanent post and Stephanie Stanger, takes on the joint headship of Hope and Burray Primary Schools.
All were appointed following a round of interviews this week.
OIC head of schools, Peter Diamond said: “Our three new headteachers are all well known by the young people and staff in the schools, as well as by parents and the community. It is really good to see appointments to these important posts from within the pool of skilled and talented teachers we have in Orkney.
“I wish each of them the very best as they begin the next stage of their career and I look forward to working with them in their new role.”
