ORFC defeated in Dumfries

Rugby12Sep2015_01 Orkney RFC fought hard but were ultimately outclassed as they lost 41-12 to Dumfries Saints in the BT National League Division 3 this afternoon. With Dumfries in third-place and aiming to regain second-place, and having already beaten Orkney 8-16 earlier in the season, it was always going to be a tough test for the islanders and so it proved to be at Park Farm, Dumfries.

Orkney’s try scorers were Danny Bain and Craig Rendall, one at the end of each half.

Despite losing, the side can still celebrate being named as the Team of the Year at the Orkney Sports Awards on Friday night for their fantastic 2015.
