Orkney FC defeated in rain-lashed thriller
Invergordon gained revenge for their Football Times Cup defeat last weekend, as they beat Orkney FC at a rain-lashed Dounby pitch.
The match had everything, however Orkney found themselves on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller as the defending league champions moved level on nine points with the islanders.
The visitors found themselves 2-0 up at the break, however an Aiden Drever penalty gave the Orcadians hope in the second period.
Invergordon extended their lead however to 3-1 with a Liam Delday goal to halve the deficit being in vain.
The defeat means Thurso, who drew 2-2 at Halkirk United, leapfrog Orkney into top spot in the North Caledonian League, on ten points.
Orkney will have to pick themselves quickly, with the Football Times Cup Final against Lewis and Harris next weekend.
