No change to home care provision recommended

Members of the Orkney Health and Care Partnership Board have recommended that there be no change to the way home care is provided in the county.

This follows a consultation in which service users and staff were asked their views on whether the service should be outsourced to an external organisation.

The overwhelming view was that there should be no change to the current arrangements for the foreseeable future.

In total, 300 responses were received to the consultation which was done through online and paper surveys, public meetings and service user focus groups.

The board’s recommendation will now go to Full Council on December 10.
