Ploughmen head to Caithness for championship warm-up

Ahead of next weekend’s Scottish championships, six Orkney ploughman are in Caithness today for the North and West Caithness Ploughing Association Competition.

A contingent of eleven Orcadian ploughmen will be among the 145 entrants taking to the field in Caithness next weekend for the national championships.

Carl Wood, of Pow farm, in Sandwick, is one of the ploughman bound for the ‘warm-up’ competition in Caithness today.

The other ten Orcadian competitors gearing up for the national championships are Jackie Hay, Cameron Linklater, Sandy Linklater, Keith Marshall, George Miller, Colin Pirie, Daniel Ritch, Kevin Ritch, Sam Spence and Eoin Sinclair
