Relay for Life invite from Shetland organisers

With the next Shetland Cancer Research UK Relay For Life due to take place in May 2016, the organisers are extending a welcome to any Orkney folk who would like to take part.

The committee are already busy organising the event, which next year will be taking place in the Gilbertson Park in Lerwick on Saturday, May 28.

As Orkney does not have its own Relay for Life, the Shetland Committee would like to extend a welcome to any Orkney teams who would like to take part.

The Relay For Life will follow the same format as previous years, with teams of people walking together in relay overnight from 8pm until 8am the following morning.

A new Facebook page has been set up for CRUK Relay For Life – Shetland, so anyone interested in getting involved is invited to like and share the page.

The committee plan to use this page as a means of communicating with teams and to advertise the fundraising events that teams plan in the run up to the relay itself.
