Sandwick aim for 18 in a row as Thornley Binders kicks off
The prestigious Thornley Binders Cup kicks off today with Sandwick aiming to extend one of the most incredible unbeaten runs in Orkney football history. The current holders will go into the tournament aiming to win their 18th consecutive cup, a record stretching back to 1998. However — in what looks to be one of the most competitive Thornley Binders Cup for many a year — the experienced Sandwick team face newly crowned Parish Cup winners, Stromness Parish. The two are set to face each other on Sunday, in Stromness at 6.45pm.
Before these two face each other, Rendall are due to take on Birsay on Saturday, at The Rockworks with a kick off time of 3pm.
The following day, Flotta, Hoy & Walls are to welcome Stromness Burgh for a 1pm kick off and Stenness are due to take on Firth at 3pm.
