Second motorcyclist injured in Orkney

A motorcyclist was taken to Kirkwall’s Balfour Hospital following a collision with a car this morning just west of the Dounby junction.

The collision, around 9am, involved an Aprilla motorbike and a Volvo car. The motorcyclist was released following treatment and the car driver was uninjured.

A report  is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal in Kirkwall. Orkney police would also like to speak to the occupants of a white car that was travelling in front of the Volvo and motorcycle as they may have witnessed the collision. Call the police on 872241.
