Second year of award success for Skara Brae
Skara Brae has been rated by its visitors as one of the UK’s best tourism attractions for the second consecutive year.
The award was given by Irish bus tour operator CIE Tours International, who recognised the quality of Scotland’s hotels and visitor attractions by awarding Skara Brae and 18 other Scottish tourism providers, a merit award in its UK Awards of Excellence.
On receiving the award, Historic Scotland’s Susan Loch said: “One of Europe’s best-preserved prehistoric settlements, Skara Brae is one of our top ten most visited sites, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors from around the world each year. I am delighted that it has been recognised with this prestigious award.”
