Success for Orkney Drama Groups in SCDA Divisional Final
Stromness Drama Club have come first – winning the Alex Drummond Trophy – in the Scottish Community Drama Association Northern Divisional Festival, with their production of the John Godber play, Found.
The drama group will now go forward to represent the Northern Division at the Scottish Final next month.
As well as Stromness’ win another Orcadian team picked up an award tonight, the last night of the Northern final. On their very first appearance at the SCDA one-act festival, The Assiepattle Players from Sandwick took home the Bon Accord Cup for the best performance during the District Festivals from a community of fewer than 500 inhabitants.
Tonight’s runners-up were Aberfeldy Drama Club. Birnam Institute Players came third.
