Taking to the air to raise money and awareness
A pair of local support workers with Scottish Autism are to take on a true test of their nerves tomorrow, as they undertake a skydive for World Autism Awareness Day.
Thomas Fergus and Andrew Close, both from Kirkwall, are to tandem skydive at the St Andrews Skydive Centre, in Glenrothes, to raise awareness of the condition, as well as raise money for the local branch of Scottish Autism, which has its offices on Bridge Street, in Kirkwall.
The pair of brave fundraisers have set themselves the goal of raising £900 and have a fundraising page here.
Alternatively, donations are being taken at the local Scottish Autism office and there are collection tins and sponsorship forms in some of the local shops around Orkney.
