Trial date set for alleged assault case

A 31-year-old Kirkwall man has denied committing two assaults and threatening behaviour.

Andrew George McConnachie, of 22 Garden Street, appeared from custody at Kirkwall Sheriff Court on Monday, when he pleaded not guilty to assaulting a woman on Bridge Street on Sunday, December 18.

He further denied assaulting a man at the time, and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner thereafter, at his home address.

Bail was granted and an intermediate trial date was set for February 29, 2012, and a trial date of March 15, 2012.
