2016 Parish Cup draw announced

Stromness won the The Orcadian Parish Cup for the first time since 1986 last August and will now contest the Inter-Island Parish Cup.
Stromness won The Orcadian Parish Cup for the first time since 1986 last August, beating Holm 2-0.

Holders of The Orcadian Parish Cup, Stromness, have been drawn against Birsay in the preliminary round of this year’s competition.

The draw was made earlier this evening at the Pickaquoy Centre.

With 13 teams competing for the trophy this year, three teams —St Andrews, St Ola and Westray drew a bye to the next round.

This year’s preliminary rounds will also see a North Isles clash with Stronsay facing Sanday, while last year’s finalists Holm face Firth.

The full draw is: Preliminary round — Stronsay v Sanday; South Ronaldsay v Sandwick; Rendall v Stenness; Stromness v Birsay; Firth v Holm; byes — St Andrews, St Ola and Westray.

Quarter-finals — South Ronaldsay/Sandwick v Rendall/Stenness; Firth/Holm v Stronsay/Sanday; St Andrews v Westray; St Ola v Stromness/Birsay.
