Call for photos — can YOU spot the Golden Islander?
Tomorrow morning, Orkney is expected to see a flying visit from a gold-painted Britten-Norman Islander, as part of Loganair’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Here at The Orcadian, we’re looking for your photo submissions, as the aircraft makes its island-hopping tour of the North Isles.
Scheduled to depart from Kirkwall airport at around 8.30am, the Golden Islander is expected to arrive six of the North Isles airstrips, as follows:
- Stronsay — 8.38am (departing 8.55am)
- Sanday — 9am (departing 9.25am)
- North Ronaldsay — 9.30am (departing 9.50am)
- Papa Westray — 9.58am (departing 10.17am)
- Westray — 10.19am (departing 10.38am)
- Eday — 10.44am (departing 11.05am)
Afterwards, the plane is set to return to Kirkwall in time for a series of celebratory events, with members of Loganair and Orkney Islands Council in attendance.
