Camerata in miniature

Members of Orkney Camerata will be presenting a varied programme of shorter pieces in their From Handel to Piazzolla concert this evening, Sunday.

The first half will consist of a recorder concerto, a flute sonata with viola da gamba accompanying, and a string quintet — Night Music from the streets of Madrid (some of which was used in the film Master and Commander).

The second half will include some miniatures for oboe and piano, a wind quintet by Darius Milhaud and a selection of pieces by the master of the tango — Astor Piazzolla.

The concert will take place in St Magnus Cathedral, starting at 7.30pm.
