Evie playpark a step closer after funding award

Projects in Graemsay, Wyre, and Evie have all received support from Orkney Islands Council community development fund.

Graemsay Community Association received backing for its bid for £20,039 towards upgrading the community centre on the island.

The Evie and Rendall Community Park Group were successful in its application for £41,580 towards the creation of a play park next to the new Evie Community School.

Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre Heritage SCIO was granted £29,002 towards the cost of upgrading Wyre Community and Heritage Centre.

In all cases councillors praised the amount of work carried out by the organisations in taking the projects forward thus far.
