Flood alert for Orkney

The Scottish Envoronment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a flood alert for Orkney.

Strong winds and a moderate storm surge will coincide with high tides today, Monday.

Wave and spray overtopping is likely in areas exposed to the strong onshore winds. Flooding to low lying ground is possible in exposed coastal areas around the time of high tide on Monday morning.

SEPA advise people to remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
