McArthur returning to Holyrood as Orkney’s MSP
Liam McArthur has been re-elected as MSP for Orkney.
Mr McArthur had 7,096 votes – 4,534 ahead of SNP candidate Donna Heddle, who received 2,562 votes.
The full results of today’s election are as follows:
- Liam McArthur (Liberal Democrat) – 7,096
- Donna Heddle (Scottish National Party) – 2,562
- Jamie Halcro Johnston (Conservative) – 435
- Gerry McGarvey (Labour) – 304
- Paul Dawson (Independent) – 137
In 2011, Mr McArthur was returned to parliament with 2,912 votes – 860 more than the second-place, independent candidate James Stockan.
