Orkney FC and Halkirk share the spoils in Caithness
Orkney FC were held to a 1-1 draw in their North Caledonian Football League match against Halkirk United earlier today.
The Anglers had gone ahead a goal to the good at half-time, despite having a man sent off, on what was a cold and wet day in Caithness.
In the second period Orkney’s Darren McLean was sent off, but eventually the away side’s perseverance paid off when Erik Bews scored after a goalmouth scramble.
Both teams then hit the woodwork late on but the game ended even, meaning that Orkney maintain their unbeaten record and stay in top position in the league.
