Orkney FC face trip to league leaders

Orkney FC are due back in league action this weekend with the side set to travel away to league leaders Halkirk United.

Last weekend’s Ness Cup victory at Alness United set up a home semi-final clash against Thurso, but that will have to wait as the islanders return to North Caledonian League action, taking on table-toppers Halkirk.

The home side lead the way in the league so far this season, three points clear of Golspie and Thurso, and eight clear of fourth-placed Orkney. Orkney have never beaten their opponents before, but with the side gaining their first away victory of the season last weekend, they will travel down in confident fashion.

The match is due to kick off at 2.30pm.
