Orkney’s winning run halted against West of Scotland

Orkney RFC were halted in their quest to win five consecutive matches in BT National League Division 3 as they were defeated 24-15 away to West of Scotland.

Orkney went in at the break 14-7 behind and a close game eventually saw Orkney edged out by a team currently nine points clear in second place.

Elsewhere Perthshire closed the gap on Orkney in fifth place to five points as they beat Berwick 27-33.

Orkney’s next scheduled match is away to second-bottom Irvine next Saturday.
