Police name missing fisherman

Police have named the fisherman who was lost overboard from the Inverness registered trawler Apollo off Orkney yesterday, Monday.

A police statement said: “Next of kin have been made aware and the police can now name the fisherman who went overboard as Craig Reid, aged 25 from Inverness.”

Detective Inspector Scott MacDonald added: “I would like to thank all those who have assisted in the search efforts so far. Sadly, Mr Reid has not been found. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. A full joint investigation is to be carried out between Police Scotland and the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.”
