Police urge drivers to take care
With snow falling on many parts of the county at the start of the week, local police are reminding people to exercise caution when driving in hazardous conditions.
Kirkwall Police Sergeant Kenny Walker said: “We had a few minor incidents where cars went off the road on Tuesday morning, but none were serious.
“Drivers are usually fine when there’s snow on the roads but the black ice causes problems.”
Sgt Walker added: “The roads are slippy so folk are being advised to take care, reduce their speed and drive to the conditions.”
