Power cable works to take place

Work is due to get underway to replace the faulty subsea power cable which runs between Eday and Westray.

Briggs Marine Contractors Limited vessels are now in Orkney to commence the work on the submarine power cable installation works between East Sous, Westray and Fersness Bay, Eday.

The marine operations are due to run for a week from today.

The operations will be carried out from the vessels Forth Guardsman, Forth Sentinel and Forth Fighter.

It is requested that all vessels operating within this area keep their distance and pass at minimum speed.
