A one-night festival of music, featuring bands including The Tribe, Condition, and The Chair, takes place in Matchmakers, Kirkwall, tonight, Thursday.

ROARFEST has been organised by a group of young volunteers under the name ROAR, and will feature 11 local acts on two stages.

Voluntary Action Orkney youth development worker, Brian Cromarty supports the group.

He said: “ROAR has been on the go for four years now, and gives young volunteers experience in organising events in the community, as well as the chance to perform.

“There is a good blend of young and established acts, and the event is open to anyone aged 14 and up. Any profit from the event will be donated to Orkney MS Therapy and national deaf charity, NDCS.”

The full line-up consists of Condition, Matthew and Hannah Harcus, The Tribe, Rachel Hirst, Marianne and Tom, Skara, The Chair, Westray JAM, Jenny and Brian, Three of Bu, and The Magic Flutes.
