South Ron golfers set for charity challenge
Eight local golfers are set to play four full rounds of golf on Saturday— all in the aid of raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support.
The ‘Longest Day Golf Challenge’ will see Richie Ballantyne, Jim Seatter, Jaimie Drever, Gary Drever, Derek Nicolson, Craig McPherson, Benny Thomson, and Neil Gauld play a total of 72 holes of golf, walk over 20 miles, and play an estimated 350-400 shots over the nine-hole South Ronaldsay course, a challenge which is estimated to take approximately 12-16 hours.
The group is planning on commencing the challenge at approximately 6.15am while the club has also organised a fun day on Saturday with various fundraising activities.
