Video: OIC convener issues message of sympathy and support to victims of Manchester attack

Orkney Islands Council convener Harvey Johnston, has written a message of sympathy and support for all those affected by Monday’s tragic events in Manchester.

Councillors and staff from Orkney Islands Council also joined people across the UK in observing a minute’s silence at 11am this morning, as a mark of respect.

Cllr Johnston’s poem is as follows:

Oh Manchester, we share your pain
The bairns and youngsters maimed and slain
By Evil, rank and inhumane.
Orkney stands with you.

With Barra too we grieve today
Together, Good can win the fray
And Love, not Hate’s the only way.
