Appeal for unused community equipment
Do you have any Community equipment loaned from the Council or NHS that you no longer need?
Staff at the Selbro Store are urging folk who have borrowed such items as commodes, bathing equipment, walking aids, chair raisers, bed blocks, TV listening aids and other community equipment to return them if they are no longer being used.
Acting Occupational Therapy Team Manager Pam Marwick said: “Community equipment is loaned out to people for as long as they need it with the understanding that they return it when they no longer do.”
“Unfortunately, some people forget to return it or aren’t sure where to return it to. We are keen to recycle as much equipment as we can to keep costs down so are appealing to anyone who may be able to let us have unwanted equipment back.”
Equipment can be returned to the Selbro Resource Centre and Store in Scotts Road, Hatston, Kirkwall, between 9 and 5pm Monday to Friday or staff can arrange to collect.
