The Ba’ Magazine goes on sale
The annual Ba’ magazine goes on sale from usual outlets from today, Thursday.
The magazine, produced by Orkney Media Group, captures all the action and drama of the four games of the season, in both words and pictures.
It also features a host of other articles and pictures related to the Ba’, from the games of today, to those played in the past.
Magazine editor Craig Taylor said: “This edition is the biggest we have produced, and gives extensive coverage of all four games and much more besides. Included are articles based on the memories of ba’ winner of 56 years ago, Bill Wilson, who has also written poetry about our traditional Kirkwall game, and shares some fantastic memories.
“We also look at the extensive JDM Robertson Ba’ archive which has been donated to the Orkney Library and Archive by the Robertson family.
“There is also coverage of the Ba’ writing competition held each year at KGS, won by Baillie Rorie, and the visit to the school by the Ba’ Committee last month. There is also a spotlight on the Ba’ booklet launched recently by Alan Findlay.”
As always, the ba’ makers feature within the pages, and there is also a look back to the games of 25 years ago, the men’s winners of which, began the men’s games of this season.
The Ba’ magazine, priced at £4, is on sale from all the usual outlets, and is available to download from The Orcadian website.
