Check community care alarms

After more thunder and lightning today, Orkney Health and Care is advising that community care alarms should be checked to make sure they are working properly.

People with community care alarms — or their nominated key holders — are asked to carry out a “self-check” on the alarms.

If people encounter problems, they are asked to contact Orkney Islands Council before 5pm this afternoon, and ask for Lynda Bradford. After 5pm and over the weekend, people can contact the Balfour Hospital switchboard, on 888000, and ask to be put in touch with Community Care Alarm Responder Services.
