Emergency services called to Stromness incident
Police have confirmed the death of a 29-year-old man after a car went into the water off Copland’s Dock in Stromness last night.
The emergency services were called to the scene just before 7 pm. Stromness Lifeboat, coastguards, medical teams, the fire service, police, and local divers all attended the incident.
A police spokesman said that activity would continue in the area today, Wednesday, and would include the recovery of the vehicle.
He added that the death was being treated as unexplained, but there were no suspicious circumstances.
