Five star show from Orkney FC

A hat-trick from Man of the Match Thorfinn Stout helped Orkney FC to their third consecutive league victory this afternoon, beating Alness 5-2 in Dounby.

Two quick-fire strikes inside the opening 15 minutes, firstly from left-winger Damien Sutherland and then Stout put Orkney two ahead at the break, before the home side repeated the trick at the start of the second half.

Stout got his second following a lovely worked move with Mark Berry, before Berry got in on the act, putting Orkney 4-0 ahead on 52 minutes with an accurate strike into the bottom corner.

The visitors did fight back however, with Orkney gifting the visitors two goals midway through the half. The result was never really in doubt however, as Stout scored a lovely third on 80 minutes, picking the ball up on the edge of the box and shrugging off several challenges to fire the ball low into the corner of the net.
