Focus on tourism at annual conference

Scotland’s tourism minister is one of the guest speakers at today’s Orkney Tourism Group conference in Kirkwall.

The minister is attending the morning and afternoon sessions of the conference, at the Pickaquoy Centre, along with OIC convener Councillor Steven Heddle, who will set out the new council’s priorities for tourism, and Serco NorthLink managing director Stuart Garrett, who will present the ferry company’s plans for continuing visitor growth.

The conference will also see the launch of the 2013 Visitor Guide to Orkney, which has been produced by the  tourism group under a new arrangement.
