HRH The Princess Royal completes Orkney engagements

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited Orkney today to take part in a number of official engagements.

After attending the Gable End Theatre in Hoy, Her Royal Highness, was transported by helicopter to Stromness, arriving shortly after 11am, where she received a tour of the new primary school, before officially opening it.

Her Royal Highness then turned her attention to Kirkwall where she was shown around the new facilities at the Pickaquoy Centre and officially opened the new swimming pool, fitness suite and squash courts.

She concluded her engagements for the day at the Market Stance, meeting members of the local branch of the Riding For The Disabled group before speaking to members of the Orkney Pony Club, who were participating in various activities as part of the club’s Summer Camp.
