Man named after Kirbister Loch death

A 56-year-old man who died after getting into difficulty on Kirbister Loch on Wednesday has been named by police.

He was Nicholas George Thomas Philips from Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to the loch in Orphir around 1pm, and Mr Philips was removed from the water. However, he sadly died at the scene.

His next of kin has been made aware.

Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
