More nominations needed for three community council areas

Three community council areas in Orkney – Orphir, Stronsay, and Firth and Stenness – need more candidates in order to form a community council.

A further three areas – Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre, Shapinsay, and St. Andrews and Deerness could benefit from more nominations, to help their community council form a quorum in cases where some members are unable to attend meetings

Any individual may stand for election to the community council representing the area in which they live.

Candidates need to complete a simple nomination form which should be collected from and returned to the Orkney Islands Council by 5pm on Monday, at which time the formal nomination process closes.
