Orkney FC hit ten in record win

Orkney inflicted humiliation on a limp and lifeless Alness United today at the KGS 3G.

James Pickles grabbed a hat-trick as Orkney FC recorded their biggest ever league win, thrashing a poor Alness United side 10-0.

On a day in which Orkney were utterly dominant from the first minute to the last, first half strikes from Chris Hellewell, Aiden Driver and Pickles ensured the match was over as a contest before 20 minutes. A second for ex-Wick Academy midfielder Pickles and a brilliant Erik Bews strike ensured Orkney were 5-0 up at the break.

The second half was again one-way traffic as Alness, who ended the match with 10 men, were left humiliated.

Hellewell got a second for 6-0, before Pickles completed his hat-trick, with Jamie Flett, Craig Gillon and Sam Hunter completing the rout.

Orkney’s next match is away to Invergordon in the Football Times Cup semi-final next Saturday.
