Orkney Sports Awards shortlist unveiled

Michael Drever, Sarah MacPhail and Olga Hamilton are all in contention for the 2018 Sportsperson of the Year Award.

Thirty nominees are in contention for prizes at the Orkney Sports Awards as the shortlist is unveiled in today’s The Orcadian.

The awards — held on Friday, January 25 — will see ten awards dished out on the evening, including a Performance of the Year which is a public vote on The Orcadian website.

In the running for the prestigious Sportsperson of the Year is Sarah MacPhail (netball), Michael Drever (para-trap shooting) and Olga Hamilton (cycling).
