Pickaquoy Centre cafe to close
The cafe and bar at the Pickaquoy Centre will close on Friday, September 30, leaving the venue without a catering facility for the first time.
However, centre manager Mark Harrison said he hoped to put the franchise out to tender following the completion of the new swimming pool and squash courts next summer.
Mr Harrison said: “The trustees and management team decided we are not going to have a catering provision until we have an understanding of what we want to do.
“We will continue to cater for meetings and events by subcontracting people to do that, and we will still provide teas and coffees, but there won’t be a café.
“We are looking at a few options including vending machines,” he continued “but probably won’t put it out to franchise until the new extension is built.”
