Playwright to read in Stromness

Novelist and playwright, Lesley Glaister is set to give a reading in the Pier Arts Centre tonight, Tuesday, at 7.30pm.

Her play, Bird Calls, was recently performed at the Orkney Arts Theatre, to the delight of local audiences.

The award-winning author of 11 novels, and several short stories now lives in Edinburgh with her husband Andrew Grieg, although the couple spend much of their time in Orkney.

During her trip, the writer will also host a workshop with Stromness Writers’ Group.
