Police appeal for information on missing Orkney woman
Police in Aberdeenshire are appealing for information regarding an Orkney woman reported missing from her home in Mearns today, Tuesday.
Shona Johnston, 35, was last seen at about 1pm today in the Robert Street area of Stonehaven.
She is described as around 5′ 6″ in height, of slim build, with short, brown hair. When last seen she was wearing blue jeans, ankle boots and possibly a blue zip up jacket.
A black Nissan X-trail vehicle, believed to have been used by Mrs Johnston, was found late this afternoon parked at Dunnottar Castle in Stonehaven.
Searches have been made in the coastline area around Dunnottar Castle by Police Scotland officers, including members of the dog unit, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, local lifeboat crews and a search-and-rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth.
According to police, there is concern for Mrs Johnston’s welfare and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
