Record-breaking total for Children in Need

Over £27,000 was raised by the people of Orkney for the annual BBC Children in Need appeal – a new record for the county.

By the end of Friday night’s marathon Radio Orkney programme — the 32nd Children in Need appeal that Radio Orkney has run locally – the grand total stood at £27,356.68.

In 2011, the sum raised was £25,452.21.
