Road works on Pickaquoy Road

Orkney Islands Council will be carrying out important road works on Pickaquoy Road from 9am today until 5pm on Thursday, August 29.

The work involves laying down coloured anti-skid surfacing either side of the pedestrian crossing between Tesco and the Great Western Road car park.

One lane will be closed 24/7 for the duration of the works. Drivers will not be able to turn left on leaving the Tesco carpark, and the bus stop outside Tesco will also be out of use.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place to manage the lane closure.

The council would like to thank drivers in advance for their patience while these important works take place.
