Rovers retain ‘A’ League title

Football club Kirkwall Rovers retained the Orkney Cheese ‘A’ League title this evening with a 3-0 victory over Hotspurs.

Strikes from Chris Simpson and James Linklater put Rovers 2-0 up at half-time, before Mark Berry scored late on to put the result beyond any doubt.

Simpson was selected as the Swannay Brewery Man of the Match, before Rovers captain Davy Leonard was presented with the Brough Cup as the champions celebrated their fourth league title victory in a row.
