Search continues for missing Scapa Flow divers
The search for the two divers in Scapa Flow who have been missing since yesterday afternoon is to continue today, Wednesday.
Stromness Lifeboat and a Coastguard rescue helicopter, with the help of local vessels, combed the area for three hours in calm conditions yesterday, following the divers being reported overdue from the local dive boat Crusader just before 5pm. They had been diving on the World War One German wreck Brummer.
Speaking on Wednesday morning Alex Dodge from Shetland Coastguard said that the matter was now being dealt with by the police.
A police spokesman said that further efforts to locate the divers was being made today.
The statement added: “The missing divers have not yet been located and there are serious concerns for their wellbeing. Details of the missing divers are not being released at this time.”
