A second-half Michael Gullion strike ensured Holm go into their Parish Cup semi-final second-leg against Stromness with the advantage of an away goal following a 1-1 draw at the Market Green this evening.

In a repeat of last year’s final, it was closely fought match between two evenly matched sides with a result that leaves the tie delicately poised ahead of the return match, scheduled to be played on Sunday, August 7.

Stromness had opened the scoring midway through the first-half through centre back Graeme Bain, heading in at the back post from a Andrew Groundwater free-kick.

Holm hit back in the second-half through Gullion, before Scott Rendall went mightily close to getting a winner when he hit the post.
