Where do you want to live?
Orkney Islands Council is seeking public input into it plans for council house building for the next three years.
The Council plans to build 87 homes in Orkney between 2013 and 2016, with funding coming from the Scottish Government’s Affordable Housing Programme and the council’s strategic reserve fund.
The next step for the council will be to decide where the homes should be built, before they finalise the programme in November. The information from the Housing Needs and Demand Assessment and the council house waiting list will form the basis for this decision, but they would like to gather additional information.
An online survey has therefore been made available via the council website which asks for information on where you would like to live in Orkney and your current housing situation. To fill in the survey, visit the OIC homepage and follow the link under the What’s New section.
