Stromness THI shortlisted for placemaking award

Hot on the heels of this week’s SURF award, the Stromness Townscape Heritage Initiative has been shortlisted for an award recognising schemes which boost local communities.

The Placemaking Awards recognise projects, plans, people and organisations from across the UK that have improved the physical or environmental quality of a place or the economic or social well-being of a community.

The Stromness THI is one of six contending for a winning spot in the ‘Best use of heritage in placemaking’ category.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in January.
